SIMPLES ET ANÉANTIES (Simples and Annihilated)
Marie Möör & Pascal Deleuze

Marie Möör
Since her first LP in 1983, Pretty day, where Marie writes the lyrics and interprets them in a coldwave style, she goes through Rock and Calypso music (with Prends moi prends moi composed by Michel Moers, Barney Wilen and Jerôme Braque). Marie Möör enlarges her spectre by a hundred figurative drawings and paintings. She paints personalities like the senator Jack Ralite, the lawyer and publisher Jean-Claude Zylberstein or even the singer Jean-Louis Murat. As result of a collaboration with Laurent Chambert, Marie Möör interprets texts that move away from the song to become a poetic prose crossed by visions often close from Georg Träkl’s or Arthur Rimbaud’s poetry. It is in that context that she proposes us a brand new piece about Marguerite Porete’s book The Mirror of the Simple Souls Who Are Annihilated and Remain Only in Will and Desire of Love in collaboration with the musician Pascal Deleuze.

He is currently writing a new self-produced concept album titled Psychotic Music.

Musical lecture of The Mirror of the Simple Souls Who Are Annihilated and Remain Only in Will and Desire of Love (selected excerpts) of Marguerite Porete.

For the first time to date since nearly nine centuries, we will hear again the words of this 12th century author born in Valenciennes, a high-end place for Rhineland mysticism from which she was of a high influence. Voluntarily wiped out by the clergy’s and the political authority, it is not only an immense mystical and social French thinker that we will hear (her fire line contains the first premises of the communist ideology), but also a poetess with a disarming writing of living strength full of “essence of sparkling love” and liquid light. Her book The Mirror of the Simple Souls Who Are Annihilated and Remain Only in Will and Desire of Love cost her being judged as heretic by the inquisition and burnt on Main Street. Those are excerpts from this book that will be read by Marie Möör, accompanied by Pascal Deleuze.

The show is presented in seven circles of seven minutes each + an epilogue.

“Les vrais innocents n’ont jamais raison et l’on ne leur fait jamais tort;
ils sont tout nus et n’ont rien à cacher: tous se cachent à cause du pécher d’Adam,
mais pas ceux qui sont anéantis, car ils n’ont rien à cacher.”
Marguerite porete.
